Hi! I'm a substitute teacher for Ft Bend ISD (just outside Houston, Tx). I need help (about $200) to help get my phone reconnected and keep it on until I get my 1st paycheck of the school year (mid Sept). Us subs in Texas do not get paid during the summer. I was planning on tutoring all summer, but both tutoring assignments I had, before I left for the Kerrville folk festival, fell thru while i was at the festival. Nothing has come thru since. I have been without any income at all all summer long(since May 25th). I am 2 1/2 months behind on my rent, too, but at least my landlord isnt harrassing me about it. He knows I'm trying my darnestest to resolve the situation. I can get help for rent from local social service organizations, but all of the social service organiziations think having a phone is a "luxury". Not for me! I need a phone so I can get my substitute teaching assignments! NO PHONE, NO WORK!!! My lights are taken care of (w/help from one social service agency). I am also getting food from food stamps and from a food pantry.
